North Knoxville Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible, Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon to establish and lead a premier spine surgery practice in Powell, Tennessee (10 minutes to downtown Knoxville). This is a full-time, hospital-employed growth position created to capture substantial regional spine volume across a primary and secondary service area of over 450,000 residents.

About Your Work

Practice Structure: Hospital-employed orthopedic spine opportunity, joining an established orthopedic footprint on campus.

Exceptional Referral Network:

• Direct alignment with 18 dedicated hospital-employed primary care clinics.
• Internal pipeline from a very large outpatient Internal Medicine Residency clinic.
• Strong strategic relationship and referral alignment with Tennessee's largest independent primary care group.
• Active field support from marketing and outreach teams.

Call Structure: Highly flexible call arrangement with emergency department backup; leadership is open to structuring a call schedule that fits the incoming surgeon.

Emergency Department: 37-bed ED seeing approximately 40,000 annual visits across all specialties, providing a steady stream of acute consults.

Surgical Facilities:

• 6 fully equipped OR suites with dedicated block time.
• Equipped with Jackson tables, fracture table, diving board, Arthrex & Spider positioners, and C-arm flouroscopy.
• Additional outpatient block time available at ASC.

Staffing and Support: Skilled OR surgical teams, employed certified first assists, 24/7 MD/CRNA anesthesia model.

Clinic & Technology: Outpatient clinic located within walking distance of the hospital with 3–4 exam rooms, in-clinic casting, and modern 1.5T MRI imaging on campus. Utilizes AthenaHealth in the clinic, Cerner in the hospital, Dragon dictation, and Suki AI scribe software.
