Family Medicine Physician - 100% Ambulatory Primary Care, M-F Sault Ste. Marie, MI

An outpatient Family Medicine position is available in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to provide comprehensive primary care across the lifespan in a clinic setting. This role supports acute care, chronic disease management, preventive services, follow-up, and transitional care; no inpatient or hospital coverage.

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday-Friday
• Generally aligned with clinic hours (approximately 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
• ~36 patient-facing clinic hours per week, plus administrative/in-basket time
• 100% ambulatory primary care

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care for new and established patients
• Evaluate and treat acute and same-day medical concerns
• Manage chronic conditions and ongoing treatment plans
• Perform annual physicals, preventive visits, and Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
• Conduct hospital and ED follow-up and transitional care
• Perform pre-operative evaluations
• Provide pediatric and well-child care within scope of practice
• Manage medications, refills, test results, and routine follow-up
• Complete in-basket responsibilities related to patient care

Patient volume and clinical support

• Target productivity: ≥2.0 completed visits per clinic hour
• Appointment slots generally up to 30 minutes
• Typical rooming/support: one Medical Assistant or LPN
• Additional resources: referral services, prior authorization support, RN navigators

EMR and tools

• Epic
• Dragon dictation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
• Current BLS certification
• Active Michigan medical license required; IMLC-eligible physicians will be considered
• Ability to provide comprehensive outpatient primary care across a broad patient population
