St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is actively seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care physician to join our busy practice at a tertiary-care, standalone children’s hospital.
The ideal candidate will have completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. The successful candidate will possess a strong interest in clinical pediatric cardiac critical care in the inner city setting.
Responsibilities will include direct patient care, clinical program development, clinical/bench research as well as teaching residents and medical students.
The Section of Pediatric Critical Care oversees a wide range of programs and services available at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, including:
· Pediatric Critical Care services, which is provided in the 33-bed clinical areas in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU), Special Care Unit (SCU), and Pediatric Burn Unit
· ACGME Approved Fellowship Program
· Rapid Response Team
· Code Blue Team
· Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
· Palliative Care Services
· Painless Pediatric Procedural Sedation Services
Within the section, our teaching programs include:
· Daily Pediatric Resident Lecture Series
· Weekly Patient Care Conferences
· Bi-monthly Critical Care Morbidity and Mortality Conferences
· Monthly Emergency Medicine/Critical Care Conferences
· Monthly Journal Club
· Pediatric Advanced Life Support Courses
· High Fidelity Simulation Program
· Mock Code Exercises
Our training programs include senior medical student electives, a pediatric residency training program, sub-specialty fellow training program, and an advanced practice nurse training program.
The selected individual will be proposed for an academic appointment at Drexel University College of Medicine with a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
