Advanced Surgical Associates (ASA) has multiple practice opportunities for Trauma / Critical Care / Acute Care surgeons. ASA provides surgeons for the new Trauma program at Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC) / Cardon Children's Medical Center (CCMC). BDMC/CCMC is a community hospital with more than 600 licensed beds, of which 150 are devoted to pediatric patients. The hospital anticipates provisional designation as an Arizona Level I Trauma Center in the late Fall and will seek separate ACS Level II verifications for both Adults and Pediatrics. BDMC/CCMC will be only the second Trauma Center capable of managing both Adult and Pediatric patients in the Phoenix metro area and expects adding 2500 – 3000 patients to its trauma registry annually.
Candidates must have completed fellowship training in either Trauma / Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery and be BC/BE in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Candidates should also possess an interest in the initial management of pediatric trauma patients. Leadership positions, including Associate Trauma Director and Medical Director of the Trauma / Surgical ICU, may be available for candidates appropriate prior experience.
