Job Description

Southwestern Medical Center, located in  Lawton, Oklahoma  is seeking a General Pediatrician  to join its hospital-employed practice  in southwestern Oklahoma.  The ideal candidate will be joining 2 other providers and will be comfortable with a broad range of general pediatric care. Must be American BC/BE.  Comp in the MGMA-median+ range with opportunity to bonus quarterly based on wRVUs. 10 days of call monthly with additional call pay if you choose to take more than 10 days. Call includes newborn nursery coverage (level 2 nursery), but you need not attend deliveries. Lawton boasts a population of 100K and SWMC serves a broader population of over 300K residents.

Located just 90 easy miles southwest of Oklahoma City on Interstate 44, Lawton is the third largest city in Oklahoma. Fort Sill, located just north of the city, is home of the United States Army Field Artillery. Visitors to the Lawton/Fort Sill Historic Landmark and Museum can see a large collection of 20th century artillery known as the Cannon Walk, view historic buildings originally constructed by Buffalo Soldiers and visit the famous Native American burial sites of Geronimo and Quanah Parker.

Lawton is located in the heart of the Great Plains Country, an area well known for its abundant lakes and world-class fishing and hunting. Mount Scott, which rises 2,500 feet above the plains, provides some of the most breathtaking scenery in the state and a chance to view free-roaming bison, longhorn cattle, whitetail deer and elk. The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, established in 1901, provides a habitat for large grazing animals on its 59,020 acres. The refuge is also home to approximately 400 species of animals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, and more than 800 plant species.
