Job Description
Lutheran Medical Group is seeking a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join an established, hospital-employed GI practice in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

- GI Physicians - 7
- Advanced GI Physicians - 1
- APPs - 4 (2 inpatient, 2 outpatient)
- GI Hospitalist - 1 (Lutheran Hospital)
- Hospitals - Lutheran Hospital & Dupont Hospital
- Endoscopy Suites - 11 dedicated to GI
- Referring PCPs - 50-60
- Referral Wait Time - Typically < 1 month
- EMR - Cerner
- Dedicated Anesthesia - Yes
- Procedure Block Time - Immediately Available
- 16-18 procedures/day on a full procedure day
- 10-12 procedures/day on a half procedure day
- 6-10 ERCPs/week
- 10-20 EUS procedures/week
- Practice mix: 80% general / 20% advanced GI
- Established opportunity for both general and advanced GI practice
- Combination of clinic and procedure time
- Morning clinic/afternoon procedures of afternoon clinic/morning procedures
- Shared call schedule
- APPs take first call
- Approximately 6 weeks of inpatient coverage annually, shared among 5 physicians
- Backup ERCP coverage available when physicians on call does not perform ERCP
- Dedicated GI Hospitalist coverage at Lutheran Hospital
