Responsibilities
Pediatrix is seeking a board-certified neonatologist to join our group at Alaska Neonatology Associates, the only neonatology practice in Alaska. Join our team of physicians and NNPs in Anchorage, Alaska!
What You Can Expect:
- Highest acuity NICU in the state: 60 beds with private rooms at Providence Alaska Medical Center with 24/7 in- house NNP support.
- Specialized services for newborn critical care include pediatric subspecialty services, pediatric surgery, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide and therapeutic hypothermia.
- Work as consultants at a local level II unit at Alaska Native Medical Center servicing the Native Alaskan population with unique challenges that come with this population.
- Active participation in the Vermont Oxford Quality Collaborative, extensively involved in local/statewide/national quality initiatives, teaching opportunities, clinical research and outreach education.
Strong Team Dynamic:
- Strong collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM).
- Cases are often emergent, outside of MFM planning
- NNPs manage most deliveries and transports while NEOs serve as backup in delivery unit.
- Experience a diversity of cases, including complicated home births that come into the NICU
- 24-hour in-house call, every 3rd day
About the Unit:
- NICU Capacity: 60 beds.
- Average Census: ~30 beds in use daily.
- Admissions: ~500–550 annually.
