Summary:

Plan, manage and supervise the daily delivery/operations of patient care to include program development, staff training, staff development, implementation of new programs and program monitoring and evaluation of the CSM Physical Medicine Department. Develop leadership and team functioning skills of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains consistency with Administrative and Departmental policies with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability
  • Participates in new learning experiences to promote personal and technical growth and development
  • Utilizes technical skills applicable in particular area of practice
  • Assumes responsibility of the patient rights during the course of treatment to ensure implementation of the treatment plan
  • Evaluates the appropriateness of the program and treatment plan in relationship to the progress of the patient’s goals
  • Coordinates the treatment and goal with the appropriate staff
  • Coordinates proper staff coverage
  • Compiles data that verifies the operational activities of the program, and provides data that ensures delivery of care is current with the latest practices and maintains data to coordinate the operational budget for the program that expenses and revenue are within acceptable limits
  • Maintain required records/documentation to ensure the program is in compliance with federal, state, and accrediting body standards
  • Assist patient and staff in resolving issues and offer direction
  • Serves as a mentor to these team members in critical areas of program development to enhance the patient care program development to enhance the patient care program contribution to quality care
  • Will provide direct patient care within their specialty when needed
  • Facilitates case management goals, objectives, and operations
  • Develop and maintains effective communication with patients and families
  • Take instructions from Manager/Director to perform other functions as assigned in order to achieve departmental and/or facility goals
  • Performs a support role for Therapists, by assisting Manager with overseeing and managing the day to day operations of patient assignment and staffing
  • Demonstrates broad base of PT/OT/ST skills
  • Participates in staff education by actively assisting in orientation of new staff and students, and assisting in the development of educational programs
  • Develops orientation plans and schedules mentor for new staff and students
  • Responsible for 90-day progress reviews
  • Assists staff to improve critical skills by providing information and presenting in-service programs
  • Assists Clinical Education Team in development of patient care and staff improvement programs
  • Develops education tools and assists staff with computer skills
  • Acts as administrative staff in: Responds and follows up on patient, family, and physician complaints, and intervenes in personnel conflicts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • BLS
