Job Description
Summary:
Performs radiation therapy and radiographic procedures involving the application of X-rays and radioactive substances to patients. Operates specialized X-ray equipment as prescribed by the physician. Keeps treatment records and prepares operational reports as required. Maintains, stores and orders supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Provides assistance to the Manager of Radiation Oncology in the management and coordination of the daily technical aspects of radiation oncology services as those services relate to patient care
• Management oversight and direct supervision to Radiation Therapists and relevant clinic staff
• Ensure technical quality of treatment, conformance with prescribed treatment plans, compliance with regulatory and safety standards
• Validate quality of radiation treatment delivery through on-going process measurement and improvement
• Provide strategic development and implementation of new programs/services and collaborates with physician and departmental personnel
• Develop and maintain Department Policy and Procedure Manuals
• Participates in plans for procurement, control and care of supplies and equipment in the clinical setting
• Maintains statistics of department activities, prepares necessary reports and logs in collaboration with director
• Assists with the development of budget including capital, human resource and daily operational needs
• Ability to grow effective work teams
• Recommends quality assurance initiatives, ability to set quality goals and evaluate clinical progress to identified goals for better patient care
• Conducts regular scheduled meetings with radiation therapy staff for clinical procedures, policy review and open forum discussions
• Participates in simulation and treatment set ups oversees radiation therapists in the review of portal films, charts, prescriptions, identifications and clinical set-up on all patients
• Maintains and increases knowledge regarding new techniques and radiation oncology program development
• Responsible for hiring new therapists and auditing their education and competencies
• Interact effectively with departmental staff to resolve issues as they arise
• Performs other related duties requested by the director
Requirements:
- MRT License in state of employment
- RRT License in state of employment
- BLS
- RADTH ARRT

8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday
