**Locum | Neonatology | Call Only | Redding, CA**
**Why This Role**
- Consistent monthly 24-hour NICU call need
- High-acuity Level III NICU environment
- Collaborative team with residents, laborists, and peds hospitalists
**Assignment Details**
- Schedule: 24-hour call, 7a–7a
- Dates needed monthly: January 11–20 (ending the 21st AM), ongoing
- Orientation: Afternoon of business day prior to first shift
- Setting: Level III NICU (no newborn nursery rounding)
- Duties: Daily NICU rounding + call coverage; respond onsite as needed
- Volume: NICU census ~7–12
- EMR: Cerner Care B
- Support: NICU nurses, FP residents, laborists, peds hospitalists
- Travel: Facility-preferred lodging list available
**Clinical Details**
- Ventilatory assistance including ETT CPAP
- Nasal CPAP >4 hrs; NCPAP >6 cm H₂O or FiO₂ >0.60
- Surfactant administration (beyond initial dose)
- Cardiac pressor administration
- Management of FiO₂ >0.60
- PaCO₂ >50 on two ABGs one hour apart
- Peripheral arterial line or central line
- Chest tube
- Total parenteral nutrition
- Exchange transfusion
- Gestational age ≤32 weeks
- Birth weight ≤1600 g
**Requirements**
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine
- Active CA license
- BLS, NRP, DEA
- Listed as a paneled California Children Services (CCS) provider at submission
- Recent substantial neonatology experience
- Clean malpractice and background
- Credentialing timeframe: ~30 days (temp privileges available if eligible)
**Compensation**
- Rates: Facility is accepting bids
- Malpractice: Provided
- Travel: Reimbursed
