We’re looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join a contract/travel role in Northampton, MA. This position starts ASAP for a 13-week assignment with a consistent 35-hour schedule: Sun–Sat, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Compensation is competitive — Travel: $2,072/35-hours; Local: $2,041/35-hours.

What you’ll need

  • Current, active Physical Therapy state license.
  • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (must include AED).

What you’ll be doing

  • Perform thorough physical assessments, review medical histories, and collaborate with the healthcare team to clarify each patient’s needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals for rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Design and lead customized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques — joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and manual stretching — to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to manage pain and support tissue healing.
  • Train and advise patients on assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to promote safe mobility.
  • Teach patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, injury prevention, body mechanics, and ergonomics.
  • Implement pain management strategies using a combination of therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual approaches.
  • Help patients regain independence following surgery, injury, or illness, focusing on improving overall quality of life.
  • Monitor and document patient progress regularly, adjust plans as needed, and communicate changes to the care team.
  • Provide personalized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery between visits.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards in care, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adapt care to meet the diverse needs of patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
