Ready to join a team in Hayward, CA? We’re looking for a Physical Therapist for a 13-week contract starting ASAP. This role follows a full-week schedule (Sun–Sat) from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Compensation

  • Travel rate: $2,244 / 35 hours
  • Local rate: $2,212 / 35 hours

Must-haves

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy license for the state
  • Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED-inclusive)

What you’ll do

  • Perform thorough physical assessments and review medical histories to get a full picture of each patient’s needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear rehabilitation goals.
  • Design and teach exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching) to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities—ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold—as appropriate to manage pain and support healing.
  • Train patients in the safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to enhance mobility and independence.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, injury prevention, body mechanics, and ergonomics.
  • Build and adjust pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve overall quality of life.
  • Monitor and document progress toward goals, updating treatment plans as patients improve or needs change.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other care team members to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care.
  • Provide customized home exercise programs to support recovery between visits.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records including assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any condition changes.
  • Follow legal and ethical standards—protect patient confidentiality and obtain informed consent.
  • Practice cultural sensitivity and tailor care to meet diverse patient backgrounds and needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
