Join a team in Hayward, CA as a contract Physical Therapist for a 13-week assignment starting ASAP. You’ll work a daytime shift (08:00 AM–04:30 PM) and support patients through evaluation, treatment, and recovery. Compensation: Travel: $2,244/35-hours; Local: $2,212/35-hours.

What we need:

  • A valid, active Physical Therapy state license.
  • CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).

What you’ll do:

  • Perform thorough physical assessments, review medical histories, and collaborate with the care team to identify patient needs and goals.
  • Create individualized treatment plans and measurable rehabilitation goals.
  • Design and lead therapeutic exercise programs to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching—to improve mobility and relieve pain.
  • Apply modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to reduce pain and inflammation and promote healing.
  • Instruct patients on proper use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and train for safe mobility.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Develop and adjust pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve overall quality of life.
  • Monitor and document progress, revise treatment plans as needed, and deliver personalized home exercise programs to support recovery.
  • Communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation (assessments, treatment notes, progress updates) and follow ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards.
  • Provide culturally responsive care and respect diverse patient backgrounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
