Location: Pittsfield, MA | Position: Physical Therapist (Contract/Travel)
Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Schedule: Sun–Sat, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Rate: Travel $2,648/40 hrs; Local $2,608/40 hrs

Overview:
Provide patient-centered physical therapy services in an acute/rehabilitation setting, delivering comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment, and interdisciplinary coordination to promote functional recovery and independence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy state license.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough evaluations, review medical history, and collaborate with the healthcare team to identify patient needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation objectives.
  • Design and progress therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination.
  • Administer manual therapy techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching) to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply physical modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) appropriately to manage pain and facilitate healing.
  • Instruct and fit patients on assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to promote safe mobility.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, home exercise programs, body mechanics, and injury prevention.
  • Implement pain-management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual techniques.
  • Support patients’ return to independence following surgery, injury, or illness, adjusting interventions based on progress.
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and plan revisions accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Practice cultural sensitivity and tailor care to diverse patient needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
