Rate: Travel $1,628/35 hrs; Local $1,603/35 hrs

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy state license
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED)

Overview:
Join a collaborative care team providing high-quality, patient-centered physical therapy in Florence, AL. This 13-week contract role requires strong clinical assessment skills, evidence-based treatment planning, and effective interdisciplinary communication to support patient recovery and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations, review medical histories, and coordinate with healthcare colleagues to identify patient needs and goals.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable rehabilitation objectives.
  • Design therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use manual therapy (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, manual stretching) and therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) as indicated.
  • Instruct and fit patients on assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and teach safe mobility strategies.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Develop and adjust pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual techniques.
  • Facilitate functional recovery after surgery, injury, or illness to promote independence and quality of life.
  • Monitor, document, and report patient progress; revise plans of care as needed.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, obtain informed consent, and adhere to legal and ethical standards, including patient confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and tailor care to diverse patient populations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
