Locums Gastroenterologist Physician

We are seeking a Locums Gastroenterologist Physician to provide hospital-based coverage in Richmond, Virginia. This opportunity is ideal for a board-certified gastroenterologist looking for consistent weekend call coverage with a low patient volume in a well-supported hospital setting.

 

Position Details

 

• Practice Setting: Hospital-Based
• Schedule: 24-hour call (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
• Coverage Need: 12 days per month, primarily weekend coverage
• Call Type: 24-hour call coverage each day

• Average Patient Volume: 3 patients per day
• EMR: Meditech

 

Responsibilities

 

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults and call coverage
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage GI-related conditions
• Perform procedures as clinically indicated
• Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

 

Requirements

 

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain)
• DEA and CSR (or ability to obtain)
• Prior inpatient GI and call experience preferred
