Locum Tenens Geriatric Physician (Family or Internal Medicine) — Inpatient/Outpatient, Middlebury VT (May–Aug 2026)

We’re seeking a locum physician to care for an older adult population in Middlebury, Vermont, covering both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities at a 98‑bed long‑term care facility. This is a clinical‑only assignment running Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., from May 4, 2026 through August 31, 2026.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver comprehensive medical care to long‑term care residents, with a focus on chronic disease management and geriatric needs.
• Complete daily rounds, admit residents as assigned, and manage ongoing care plans.
• Work closely with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate and document care.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation of patient encounters and participate in care planning meetings.

The patients and volume

• Primarily geriatric patients in a long‑term care setting.
• Facility cares for a large resident population (approximately 812 patients seen per day).
• Case mix centers on chronic conditions and geriatric syndromes.

Facility and support

• 98‑bed long‑term care facility with standard clinical resources.
• Nursing and facility care teams available to support clinical work.
• This assignment provides supplemental locum coverage for the facility.

Compensation and logistics

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.

Qualifications

• Active medical license required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics.
• Prior experience in geriatrics or long‑term care preferred.
• Comfort managing complex geriatric patients in a long‑term care environment is essential.
