Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist — Inpatient Coverage (York, PA; Mar–Jun 2026)

We’re seeking a Gastroenterology physician to provide locum tenens inpatient coverage in York, PA. This is supplemental clinical coverage with call responsibilities (beeper; 30-minute response time) and rounding duties. Exact shift and call schedule will be determined.

Assignment details

• Coverage period: March 2 – June 30, 2026
• Service setting: Inpatient at a Level I trauma center
• Coverage type: Clinical + call
• EMR: Epic
• Hospital privileges: Required (temporary privileges available)
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance: Covered

Procedures expected
You should be comfortable performing a full range of GI procedures, including:

• Upper endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, hemostasis (cautery/laser/injection), and PEG placement
• Esophageal dilatation and manometry
• Small bowel biopsy
• Lower endoscopy procedures: flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy

Provider requirements

• Board certified in Gastroenterology
• Active PA medical license or participation in the IMLC
• Completed fellowship in Gastroenterology
• BLS and ACLS certifications
