Join a dynamic rehabilitation team in Watchung, NJ for a 14-week contract (ASAP start). This full-time role follows a standard 08:00 AM–04:30 PM schedule. Compensation: Travel: $2,244/35 hrs; Local: $2,212/35 hrs.

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy state license
  • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED)

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough physical evaluations, review medical histories, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to determine patient needs and goals.
  • Create individualized treatment plans and measurable rehabilitation objectives.
  • Design and implement therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination.
  • Deliver manual therapy techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Utilize modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to support pain relief and tissue healing.
  • Instruct and fit patients on appropriate assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to maximize safety and mobility.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment rationale, injury prevention, ergonomics, and home exercise programs.
  • Develop and apply pain-management strategies combining therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual techniques.
  • Facilitate functional recovery to help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness.
  • Monitor, document, and adjust treatment based on patient progress; maintain accurate, timely clinical records.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other care team members to coordinate care.
  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in patient interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
