We’re looking for an experienced Physical Therapist to join a team in Starkville, MS on a 14-week contract starting ASAP. This role follows a consistent 8:00 AM–4:30 PM shift seven days a week and offers competitive travel and local rates (Travel: $2,121/35hrs; Local: $2,090/35hrs).

What you’ll bring

  • Current, active Physical Therapy license in the practicing state.
  • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED).

What you’ll do
You’ll evaluate patients, create clear treatment plans, and guide them through rehabilitation with hands-on care and therapeutic modalities. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Performing thorough physical assessments and reviewing medical histories, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to clarify patient needs.
  • Setting individualized, measurable goals and designing evidence-based treatment plans to support recovery and independence.
  • Implementing customized exercise programs to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Using manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) and modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to reduce pain and promote healing.
  • Teaching safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and providing home exercise programs to reinforce progress between sessions.
  • Educating patients and families about diagnoses, treatment strategies, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and maintaining accurate clinical records and progress notes.
  • Practicing within legal and ethical standards—protecting confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, and showing cultural sensitivity while addressing diverse patient needs.
  • Collaborating with the care team to coordinate treatment and optimize outcomes.
  • Completing other duties as assigned by management.
