Join a contract travel team in Silver Spring, MD, providing patient-centered physical therapy services. This 13-week assignment begins ASAP and follows a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Compensation:

  • Travel: $1,950 per 35-hour week
  • Local: $1,918 per 35-hour week

Required credentials:

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy license for the state of Maryland
  • CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED)

Core responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough physical evaluations, review medical histories, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to determine patient needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation goals and adjust them based on progress.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Provide manual therapy (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, therapeutic stretching) to enhance mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to manage pain and inflammation and support tissue healing.
  • Instruct patients in the safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and prescribe appropriate adaptive equipment.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Deliver pain management strategies incorporating therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual interventions.
  • Support patients’ return to independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve function and quality of life.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, maintain accurate treatment notes, and revise plans of care as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other care team members to coordinate care.
  • Provide individualized home exercise programs and ensure continuity of care between visits.
  • Adhere to legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards; obtain informed consent and demonstrate cultural competence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
