Travel Contract Physical Therapist (PT) — Skowhegan, ME (13-Week, Full-Time)

Join a 13-week contract as a Physical Therapist in Skowhegan, ME (start ASAP). Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Compensation: Travel rate $2,308/36 hrs; Local rate $2,275/36 hrs.

Requirements:

• Active, valid Physical Therapy state license.
• Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED).

Key responsibilities:

• Perform thorough physical assessments, review medical histories, and collaborate with the healthcare team to identify patient needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation goals and adjust plans based on progress.
• Design and lead therapeutic exercise programs to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
• Deliver manual therapy (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, stretching) to improve mobility and relieve pain.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to reduce pain and support tissue healing.
• Instruct patients in the safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and provide home exercise programs to support recovery.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
• Implement pain management strategies through exercise, modalities, and manual techniques to enhance function and independence after surgery, injury, or illness.
• Monitor and document patient progress, maintain accurate clinical records, and communicate changes to the care team.
• Adhere to legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
