Requirements:

  • Valid Physical Therapy license in practicing state(s) or documentation of eligibility.
  • One of the following education/experience combinations:
    • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy; or
    • Master’s degree in a related field plus a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; or
    • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of PT experience.
  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise PT assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure and professional standards.
  • Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses, identify impairments, set measurable treatment goals, and develop care plans.
  • Provide and document therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to: therapeutic exercise (aerobic, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility), functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance, integumentary repair, electrotherapeutic and mechanical modalities, health/wellness education, chronic disease management, and fall risk assessment/intervention.
  • Select and adapt activities to match patients’ physical and cognitive capacities; instruct patients in mobility skills and assess progress.
  • Perform routine reexaminations and modify or progress treatment plans accordingly.
  • Conduct home and community mobility assessments and provide safety recommendations.
  • Participate in patient care and staffing conferences; refer patients to other disciplines or community agencies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens and incorporate health/wellness programming into treatment.
  • Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules; complete timely clinical and billing documentation and attend required meetings.
  • Order, maintain, clean, and report needs for equipment and supplies; promote a safe environment and address fire/safety hazards.
  • Ensure patients and families receive high-quality, compassionate service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
