Job Details
Coverage type: Scheduled clinical hours + call
Practice setting: Outpatient, Inpatient
Schedule: Monday _ Friday day coverage plus overnight call
Day shift: 9 hours with 1 hour lunch (8 billable hours)
Overnight call: 15 hours
Weekend call: 24 hours
EMR: Athena and Cerner
Patients per day: Up to 12
Providers requested: 1

Clinical Responsibilities
General gastroenterology consults and procedures
Upper GI endoscopy including biopsy and therapeutic interventions
Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
Sigmoidoscopy
PEG / PEG-J tube placement
Esophageal dilation and manometry
pH studies
Capsule endoscopy
Hydrogen breath testing
ERCP required
EUS preferred
Review pathology results and coordinate follow up recommendations
Complete all charting independently without scribe support

Support Structure
Established endoscopy unit team
4 procedure rooms / endoscopy suites
Nursing support available
Hospitalists handle admissions

Requirements
Board Certified Gastroenterologist
Active Michigan license required
State License Requirement: Michigan license only
ABLS certification required
ACLS certification required
ATLS certification required
BLS certification required
ERCP required
Full availability for requested date blocks only
