Locum Tenens Hospitalist — Hillsdale, MI (7 On/7 Off, Day Shifts, In-House Call)

We’re looking for a hospitalist to join a team in Hillsdale, Michigan, covering inpatient and some outpatient responsibilities starting April 1, 2026, with ongoing coverage. You’ll work a 7-on/7-off day-shift rotation and take in-house night call during your scheduled week (1:1 call). This is a locum tenens role with travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide daytime inpatient hospitalist coverage on a 7-on/7-off schedule.
• Admit, round on, and discharge adult and geriatric patients with general inpatient medicine needs.
• Manage acute inpatient conditions and perform standard hospitalist procedures.
• Take in-house night call during your scheduled work week and handle phone consults as clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with on-site NP/PAs and specialty services to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.

Patient and volume details

• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Hospital: 25 beds, Level 3 trauma center.
• Annual ED volume approximately 22,000; typical inpatient census aligns with that capacity.

Team and facility support

• Fully equipped inpatient hospital setting with 24-hour physician coverage and 12-hour NP/PA coverage.
• Specialty backup and APP coverage available on site.
• This assignment is for supplemental coverage.

Credentials and requirements

• Active Michigan medical license and active MI DEA.
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Current BLS and ACLS.
• Prior hospitalist experience preferred.
• Comfortable working the 7 on / 7 off rotation and taking night call during scheduled weeks.
