We’re looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join a contract team in Starkville, MS. This is a 14-week assignment starting ASAP with a weekday schedule of 08:00 AM–04:30 PM (Sun–Sat coverage as listed). Compensation: Travel rate $2,244/35 hrs; Local rate $2,212/35 hrs.

What we need from you

  • Active, valid Physical Therapy license for the state.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).

What you’ll be doing
You’ll assess, treat, and guide patients recovering from injury, surgery, or illness, working closely with the care team and families. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments and review medical histories to determine patient needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable rehab goals.
  • Design and lead exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities—ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold—as appropriate to manage pain and promote healing.
  • Instruct patients on assistive device use (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to maximize safe mobility.
  • Teach patients and caregivers about their conditions, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual techniques.
  • Help patients regain independence and improve quality of life through targeted rehabilitation.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting plans as needed to meet goals.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Provide tailored home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery outside the clinic.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records including assessments, treatment notes, progress, and any changes in condition.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards—protect patient confidentiality and obtain informed consent.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to meet diverse patient needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
