Location: Salinas, CA | Type: Contract/Travel | Start: ASAP | Duration: 14 weeks
Schedule: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM | Rate: Travel $2,244/35 hrs; Local $2,212/35 hrs

Requirements:

  • Current, active Physical Therapy state license.
  • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED included).

Position overview:
Provide assessment-driven physical therapy services to promote recovery, restore function, and maximize patient independence. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered care while documenting progress and adapting treatment plans as needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments and review medical histories to determine patient needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation objectives.
  • Prescribe and progress therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Deliver hands-on interventions (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, manual stretching) to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Utilize modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to manage pain, inflammation, and tissue healing.
  • Instruct patients in the proper use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to enhance mobility and safety.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies combining exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Facilitate functional recovery post-surgery, injury, or illness to improve quality of life and independence.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress; revise plans of care as clinically indicated.
  • Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members.
  • Provide individualized home exercise programs to support continued recovery.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness when working with diverse patient populations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
