Clinical Volume and Team

  • Typical daily census: ~12 patients
  • Admissions: 0–4 per shift
  • Physicians in practice: 9 (3 FT, 2 PT, 4 contingent)

Procedures and Responsibilities

  • Ventilator management: invasive (ETT), non-invasive (BiPAP/CPAP)
  • High-frequency oscillatory ventilation
  • Chest tube insertion
  • Umbilical catheterization (UVC/UAC)
  • Peripheral IV placement
  • Central line (C-line)/A-line insertion
  • Exchange transfusions
  • Diagnostic/therapeutic taps
  • Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
  • General NICU evaluation and management

Logistics and Coverage

  • Mileage reimbursement and malpractice insurance provided

Qualifications

  • Fellowship-trained in Neonatology
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Active Michigan medical license
  • Current experience in Level III or IV NICU
  • BLS and NRP certification
  • Local provider required
  • Clean background; NPDB report within 30 days of submission/presentation date required
