We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join a team in Westbrook, ME on a 14-week contract. This role starts ASAP and follows an 08:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule. Compensation is: Travel: $1,876/35-hours; Local: $1,848/35-hours.

What you’ll bring

  • A valid, active Physical Therapy state license.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED).

What you’ll do

  • Perform thorough evaluations by reviewing medical histories, assessing function, and collaborating with other clinicians to identify patient needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals for rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Design and lead customized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and manual stretching—to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to manage pain, inflammation, and tissue healing.
  • Train patients in the safe and effective use of assistive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Implement pain management strategies combining exercises, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve daily function and quality of life.
  • Monitor and document progress regularly, updating treatment plans as patients’ needs change.
  • Communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Provide tailored home exercise programs to support continued recovery between sessions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records of assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including confidentiality and informed consent, and provide culturally sensitive care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
