We’re seeking a Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic surgeon to provide locum tenens coverage in Longview, TX from March 20–28, 2026. This is inpatient, call-only coverage (ED and cath lab) on a 24-hour beeper call schedule (7a–7a) with a 30-minute response time. Coverage shifts to fill: daily starting March 20 (7a) through March 28 (7a). The hospital is a Level III trauma center using Athena/MedHost EMR and offers temporary privileges. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.

You’ll have RN, MA, PA/NP, and office staff support and will manage admissions. Procedural expectations are broad and include vascular and general cardiac/thoracic operations: aneurysm repairs (thoracic and abdominal), arterial bypasses, peripheral vascular procedures, vascular access devices and AV shunts; open and endoscopic cardiac surgery including CABG (on- and off-pump), congenital defect repairs (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.), valve repair and replacement, cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysm repair; lung resections (including VATS), chest wall/pleural procedures, esophageal and diaphragmatic surgery; device implants (permanent pacemaker, AICD, LVAD), TAVR, bronchoscopy and ventilator management, and acute volume/BP stabilization. You’ll also perform critical lines and devices (central, arterial, PA catheter, IABP) and both open and endovascular vascular procedures (aorto-abdominal work, aorto-femoral/iliac and fem-pop bypasses, carotid and renal endarterectomy, subclavian interventions).

Requirements: active Texas medical license, board certification, and demonstrable vascular surgery capability.
