Minimum requirements:

  • Valid, active Physical Therapy state license.
  • CPR and BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).

Primary responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments, review medical history, and collaborate with the care team to determine patient needs.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable rehabilitation goals.
  • Design and supervise therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, and functional mobility.
  • Use manual therapy techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching) to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) as indicated to manage pain, inflammation, and tissue healing.
  • Instruct and fit patients on assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and train safe use.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies using exercise, modalities, and manual techniques.
  • Facilitate post-operative and post-injury recovery to maximize independence and quality of life.
  • Monitor, document, and modify patient progress and treatment plans; maintain accurate clinical records and progress notes.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Provide individualized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
  • Adhere to legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards; obtain informed consent.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and provide care responsive to diverse patient populations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
