We’re looking for a skilled Physical Therapist to join a team in Silver City, NM on a 14-week contract starting ASAP. You’ll work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, helping patients recover and regain independence through hands-on care, individualized plans, and clear communication with the rest of the healthcare team. Compensation: Travel: $2,383/36-hrs; Local: $2,347/36-hrs.

What you’ll need

  • Current, active Physical Therapy state license
  • CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED)

What you’ll do

  • Perform thorough physical assessments, review medical histories, and collaborate with colleagues to pinpoint patient needs.
  • Create and update individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals for rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Design and lead therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use manual therapy techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and stretching—to enhance mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to control pain, inflammation, and support healing.
  • Train patients in the safe and effective use of assistive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention (body mechanics/ergonomics).
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies combining exercises, modalities, and manual approaches.
  • Help patients regain function and independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve overall quality of life.
  • Continuously assess and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed and maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards in patient care, including confidentiality and informed consent, and practice with cultural sensitivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
