We’re looking for a motivated Physical Therapist to join a team in Florence, AL on a 15-week contract beginning ASAP. You’ll work a weekday schedule (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) and have the chance to make a real difference helping patients recover strength, mobility, and independence. Compensation: Travel: $2,072/35-hours; Local: $2,041/35-hours.
What you’ll do:
- Perform thorough physical assessments, review medical histories, and collaborate with the care team to identify patient needs and goals.
- Create individualized treatment plans and measurable rehab goals tailored to each patient’s condition and recovery timeline.
- Design and lead exercise programs to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
- Use hands-on techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and manual stretching—to improve mobility and reduce pain.
- Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to support pain relief and tissue healing.
- Train patients in the safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to maximize mobility and independence.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, proper body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
- Develop and adjust pain-management strategies combining therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
- Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve their quality of life.
- Monitor, document, and adapt treatment based on progress toward rehabilitation goals; maintain accurate records of assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
- Provide personalized home exercise programs to support continued recovery outside clinic hours.
- Uphold ethical and legal standards, protect patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in care.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
What you need:
- Active, valid Physical Therapy state license.
- Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).
If you’re committed to patient-centered care and ready to hit the ground running in Florence, we’d like to hear from you.
