Company:Adelphi Staffing, LLC

Profession/Specialty:Physical Therapy

Location:Monterey, California, United States

Job Type:Part-time, In-person, Temporary / Locum Tenens

Job Description

Ref #: C-PT-9071283

Join a busy outpatient team in Monterey, CA on a 14-week contract with an ASAP start. This role follows a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) and is available for both travel and local candidates. Compensation is competitive: Travel rate $2,383/36 hrs; Local rate $2,347/36 hrs.

What we’re looking for

  • A currently valid and active Physical Therapy state license.
  • CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED).

What you’ll be doing
You’ll perform thorough physical assessments and review medical histories to get a clear picture of each patient’s needs, then work with the rest of the healthcare team to coordinate care. Based on your evaluations, you’ll create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals and implement exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.

Hands-on interventions are a core part of the role — you’ll use manual techniques such as joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and stretching to enhance mobility and relieve pain. You’ll also apply therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) when appropriate to support healing and reduce inflammation.

You’ll teach patients and their families how to use assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs), provide ergonomic and body mechanics education to prevent re-injury, and develop pain-management strategies using exercises, modalities, and manual therapy. Helping patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness and improving their quality of life will be central to your work.

Documentation and teamwork
You’ll track and document progress carefully — assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition — and adapt plans as patients improve or needs change. Strong communication with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members is essential to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Professional standards
Maintain ethical and legal standards, protect patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity to serve patients from diverse backgrounds.

Other
This position may include additional duties as assigned by management.
