Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years recent pediatric nursing experience
• Experience with medically fragile children preferred
• Ability to travel between campuses if assigned multiple students
• Competence recognizing respiratory distress and initiating emergency care
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care to assigned medically fragile students
• Perform and manage specialized procedures (e.g., tracheostomy care, suctioning, nebulizer treatments, catheterization, vagal nerve stimulator management, emergency airway interventions)
• Administer medications and monitor student health status per orders
• Cover campus clinic duties and support routine student health needs
• Support school activities and field trips requiring nursing presence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of nursing care and health records
• Collaborate with school nurses, teachers, administrators, and families
• Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and clinical standards
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school health initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining professional interactions with students, staff, and families
