Location: Salinas, CA | Type: Contract/Travel | Start: ASAP | Duration: 14 weeks
Schedule: Sun–Sat, 08:00 AM–04:30 PM | Rate: Travel $2,244/35 hrs; Local $2,212/35 hrs
We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join a collaborative team in Salinas for a 14-week contract. The ideal clinician conducts thorough evaluations, develops individualized treatment plans, and delivers evidence-based interventions to restore function, reduce pain, and promote patient independence across diverse populations.
Requirements:
- Valid, active Physical Therapy state license
- CPR/BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross, with AED)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and review medical histories to identify patient needs and goals
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation objectives
- Design therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination
- Apply manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft-tissue work, stretching) to enhance mobility and relieve pain
- Utilize modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) as clinically indicated
- Instruct patients in safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs)
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention
- Develop and adjust pain management strategies incorporating therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy
- Facilitate functional recovery after surgery, injury, or illness to maximize independence and quality of life
- Monitor and document patient progress; revise plans of care as needed
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care
- Prepare clear, accurate clinical documentation (assessments, treatments, progress notes)
- Maintain professional, ethical practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adapt care to meet diverse patient needs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
