Contract/Travel assignment in Silver City, NM — Start: ASAP — Duration: 14 weeks
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Compensation: Travel: $2,516/38 hrs; Local: $2,478/38 hrs

We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting. The ideal clinician will perform thorough evaluations, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and independence.

Required qualifications

  • Valid, active Physical Therapy state license.
  • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments, review medical histories, and coordinate with other healthcare providers to determine patient needs.
  • Develop measurable, goal-driven treatment plans and document progress accurately.
  • Design and deliver individualized therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use manual techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, stretching) and adjunct modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to reduce pain and promote healing.
  • Instruct patients on safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and provide tailored home exercise programs.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment strategies, injury prevention, ergonomics, and body mechanics.
  • Monitor, adjust, and document patient progress toward rehabilitation goals; provide pain-management strategies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, obtain informed consent, and adhere to legal/ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adapt care to meet diverse patient needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
