Rate: Travel: $2,436/38 hrs; Local: $2,402/38 hrs

Requirements

  • Active Physical Therapy state license for New Mexico (or multistate license valid in NM)
  • Current CPR and BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross, include AED)
  • Valid professional credentials and ability to pass facility onboarding/background checks

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments, review medical history, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to identify patient needs.
  • Develop and document individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions: therapeutic exercise, manual therapy (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching), and functional training to restore mobility, strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Administer physical modalities as indicated (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to manage pain and support tissue healing.
  • Instruct and train patients in use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and safe mobility techniques.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, home exercise programs, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Monitor, document, and revise treatment plans based on patient progress; complete accurate assessments, progress notes, and other required records.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care and adapt approaches to meet diverse patient needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Documentation: Maintain timely, accurate charting of assessments, interventions, progress, and discharge planning per facility policies.
