Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist (Inpatient/ERCP) — Lexington, KY

Join a Lexington, KY health system to provide inpatient gastroenterology locum tenens coverage. This role is supplemental call-only coverage beginning March 17, 2026 and continuing on an ongoing basis. Call schedule is 24-hour coverage, 14 days per month (7 on/7 off). Responsibilities include bread-and-butter inpatient GI care, emergency department consults, ERCP, and general endoscopy. Rounding is included.

Coverage windows (dates to be filled): Mar 17–23 (required); Apr 4–20; Jun 9–15; Jul 7–13; Aug 4–10, 18–24; Sep 15–21; Sep 29–Oct 5; Oct 13–19; Oct 27–Nov 2; Nov 24–30; Dec 8–14, 22–28.

Clinical environment and support

• Setting: Inpatient
• Patient volume: 10–20 (approximately 10 admissions per night)
• Support staff: 3 dedicated GI APPs who assist with endoscopy, floor, and ED coverage
• EMR: Epic

Required skills and credentials

• Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology (BC/BE)
• Demonstrated ERCP competency; experience with routine endoscopic procedures
• Active Kentucky medical license preferred or participation in IMLC
• Current ACLS and DEA registration
• Clean professional record; current NPDB report (within 30 days)
• Malpractice, travel, and lodging provided
