Join a Hematology & Oncology team in Paducah, KY, providing predominantly outpatient care with limited inpatient responsibility. This locum / locum-to-perm opportunity begins ASAP and is ongoing, covering clinical duties plus EMTALA call. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with call blocks from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM (7a–7a) and every other weekend (two nights per week).

Clinical scope and practice

  • Patient population: 100% adults; case mix ~70% oncology, 30% hematology
  • Volume: ~22 patients/day; 2–3 new consults/day
  • Setting: 95% outpatient, 5% inpatient
  • Procedures: intrathecal chemotherapy required; intracavitary chemotherapy preferred
  • Onsite resources: chemotherapy infusion suite, lab, serum chemistry, 2 hematology analyzers (CBC), Epic EMR, 10 exam rooms
  • Team: 2 physicians and 3 advanced practice providers; additional support includes 1 PA-C, 2 APRNs, consultative and infusion RNs (total 12 RNs), and 1 research RN
  • Hospital privileges required

Requirements

  • Active Kentucky medical license
  • Board certified in Hematology/Oncology
  • Hematology/Oncology fellowship completion
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof

Shift details, call structure, and support are in place to enable focused outpatient oncology practice with on-site infusion and laboratory capabilities.
