Adelphi is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide school-based therapy services for students with severe disabilities at a Sikeston, Missouri school. Services will be delivered in alignment with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), using an integrated, classroom-based approach. This is a contract position through July 31, 2026, with a combination of on-site and teletherapy services as determined by the school.

Required qualifications

  • Active Missouri Physical Therapist license in good standing
  • Preferred experience serving students ages 5–21 with severe disabilities
  • Knowledge of integrated therapy models, IEPs, and IDEA requirements
  • Successful completion of Family Care Safety Registry screening and FBI fingerprint background check
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary educational teams

Primary responsibilities

  • Deliver direct physical therapy services consistent with student IEPs
  • Use an integrated, classroom-based approach to support student participation and progress
  • Consult with teachers and school staff to support implementation of therapy strategies and IEP goals
  • Review student records and IEPs to guide appropriate service delivery
  • Coordinate schedules and services with teachers, administrators, and related personnel
  • Accurately document therapy sessions, durations, and required data in designated systems
  • Contribute to IEP documentation (present levels, progress updates) as requested
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and IEP meetings as required
  • Provide staff training or resource development when requested
  • Support continuity of services during absences or staffing changes
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to mandated reporting, student safety, and conduct policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
