We’re looking for a motivated Physical Therapist to join a team in Fair Lawn, NJ for a 14-week contract/travel assignment starting ASAP. You’ll work a full-week schedule (Sun–Sat) from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Compensation is: Travel pay $2,121/35 hrs; Local pay $2,090/35 hrs.

What we need from you

  • Current, active Physical Therapy state license
  • CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (must include AED)

What you’ll be doing

  • Perform thorough physical assessments, review medical histories, and coordinate with the care team to understand each patient’s needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable rehab goals.
  • Design and lead exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques—joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching—to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities as appropriate (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to support pain relief and tissue healing.
  • Train and advise patients on proper use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
  • Educate patients and family members about conditions, treatment plans, injury prevention, body mechanics, and ergonomics.
  • Implement pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve quality of life.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, modifying plans as needed to meet goals.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Provide customized home exercise programs to support continued recovery.
  • Maintain accurate records—assessments, treatment notes, progress, and any changes in condition.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards, protect patient confidentiality, and obtain informed consent.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive care that respects the diverse backgrounds of patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
