Travel RN – Orthopedics (Nights) — Herrin, IL (36-hr Contract)

Join a travel contract team in Herrin, IL, providing night-shift orthopedic nursing care. This is an ASAP start, 36-hour schedule with a pay rate of $1,930 per 36 hours.

Requirements:

• Active RN license and graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Prior orthopedic or surgical experience preferred
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and time-management skills
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-operative management
• Conduct musculoskeletal assessments and monitor recovery progress
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and ordered treatments
• Manage post-op care for joint and bone surgeries; monitor surgical sites, casts, and traction devices
• Assist with mobility, rehabilitation, and fall-prevention measures
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education regarding recovery and discharge instructions
• Accurately document care and patient status in the EMR
