Travel RN - Orthopedics (Nights) Herrin, IL — $1,930/36h | Post-Op Bone & Joint Care

We’re looking for a skilled RN to join a busy orthopedic team in Herrin, IL on a contract/travel assignment starting ASAP. This is a nights position (36 hours) with a competitive rate of $1,930 per 36-hour shift block. You’ll be caring for patients recovering from joint and bone surgeries and helping them through post‑operative recovery and rehabilitation.

What you’ll bring:

• Current, active RN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Prior orthopedic or surgical nursing experience preferred
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to stay organized in a fast‑paced environment

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for orthopedic patients, including post‑op management for joint and bone procedures
• Perform musculoskeletal assessments, monitor recovery, and document progress in the EMR
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and ordered treatments, and monitor surgical sites, casts, and traction devices
• Assist with mobility, rehabilitation, and fall prevention strategies, working closely with physical/occupational therapy
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and educate patients and families on recovery and discharge plans
