Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) — School-Based Contract, Jefferson City MO

We’re looking for an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist to join school teams in Jefferson City, Missouri, providing hands-on mobility and orientation services to students with visual impairments and significant disabilities. You’ll work primarily on-site during the school year, delivering practical, functional instruction that aligns with students’ IEP goals and supports greater independence.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver direct O&M instruction tailored to IEP objectives, teaching safe travel, cane skills, route planning, and environmental awareness.
• Assess students’ mobility needs, contribute to IEP development, and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraeducators, and related service providers to integrate O&M strategies across the school day.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and reports.
• Participate in meetings, consultations, and trainings as needed.
• Follow school safety procedures and district policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
