LPN/LVN - Night Shift Long Term Care (Las Cruces, NM)

Join a contract (non-travel) assignment in Las Cruces, NM as a Licensed Practical Nurse. This 12-week position starts ASAP, follows a 6:00 PM–6:30 AM shift, and pays $1,051 per 36 hours.

Required:

• Active, valid LPN license for the state of employment
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and monitoring of vital signs.
• Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications accurately, document dosing, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform wound management: clean, dress, and assess wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and maintain accurate patient records of condition changes and interventions.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management; respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
• Adhere to infection control practices, appropriate PPE use, and safe medication/supply handling and disposal.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Supervise and support CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing training and comply with regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
