Travel RN Orthopedics (Nights) — Herrin, IL (Contract)

We’re looking for a skilled Registered Nurse to join a busy orthopedic team in Herrin, IL. This is a night contract/travel role starting ASAP, offering $1,930 for a 36-hour week. You’ll be caring for patients with bone and joint conditions, helping them through surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation.

What you’ll bring:

• Active RN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Prior orthopedic or surgical experience is a strong plus
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and time-management skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-op care
• Perform musculoskeletal assessments and closely monitor recovery progress
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and ordered treatments
• Monitor surgical sites, casts, and traction devices and assist with wound care
• Support mobility and rehabilitation efforts and implement fall-prevention strategies
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and therapy teams to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about recovery plans, home care, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the EMR
