Join a Level III NICU in Richmond, VA, providing inpatient neonatology coverage on a locum tenens basis. This supplemental, clinical-only assignment begins ASAP and is ongoing. Shifts alternate day (7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) and in-house night coverage (5:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.). The unit averages a daily census of 14.3 in the NICU and 24.2 in the nursery, with approximately 130 annual admissions and 15 transports per year. The hospital is a 340-bed facility with a 40-bed NICU and a team of six full-time neonatologists.
Clinical scope includes management of pediatric surgical patients and performing advanced interventions such as HFOV and HFJV, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia with EEG monitoring, and PDA ligation support. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.
Requirements:
- Board Certification in Neonatology
- Virginia medical license
- NPDB report
- Minimum six months’ recent experience in neonatology
