Locums Cardiology Physician

A healthcare facility in Petoskey is seeking a Locums Cardiology Physician to provide comprehensive inpatient coverage with call responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a cardiologist looking for consistent 24-hour call shifts supported by a strong inpatient team.

Position Details

• Schedule: Sunday–Saturday coverage
• Shift Type: 24-hour call (6:00 AM – 6:00 AM)
• Weekday Requirements: Monday–Friday shifts must include 8 hours of gratis time
• Practice Setting: Inpatient only (no clinic responsibilities)
• Call Requirements: Yes (24-hour call)
• Weekend Requirements: Yes

Practice Environment

• Inpatient cardiology coverage with hospital call responsibilities
• Supported by three (3) inpatient Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Collaborative care model with multidisciplinary team
• EMR: Cerner

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient cardiology care and consults
• Interpret diagnostic studies and manage treatment plans
• Collaborate with APPs and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care
• Respond to call and manage acute cardiac conditions
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR system

Required Procedures & Skills

• Echocardiography
• Treadmill stress testing
• Chemical stress testing
• Ability to interpret all above diagnostic studies

Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiology
• Active Michigan Medical License
• DEA Certification
• Must reside in Michigan or within driving distance
