Patient/Case Mix
- Cardiothoracic surgical patients (inpatient)
Required Procedures
- General cardiothoracic/thoracic surgery (open and endoscopic)
- CABG (on- and off-pump)
- Valvular repair and replacement; aortic valve conservation
- Aneurysm repair; aorto-thoracic procedures; aortic root remodeling/enlargement
- TAVR; Impella55 (implant/support)
- Ventilator management; evaluation/management of acute volume/BP issues
- Insertion of central line, arterial line, PA catheter, IABP
Preferred Procedures
- Minimally invasive mitral procedures
- Lung resection including VATS
- Chest wall/pleural, esophageal, diaphragm surgery
- Permanent pacemaker and AICD placement
- Left ventricular assist devices; bronchoscopy
Requirements
- Board certified (BC) required
- Washington license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) accepted
Key Duties
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures (CABG, valve surgery, aneurysm repair, etc.)
- Provide inpatient care and participate in weekend call rotation
- Manage perioperative hemodynamic/volume issues and ventilator needs
- Perform invasive monitoring and support device insertions
- Collaborate with RNs, MAs, and PA/NPs for patient care continuity
